I HAVE A CONFESSION …I MARRIED FOR TOMATO! I FELL MADLY INLOVE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ONE OF JEAN-PAULS’ DRY FARMED TOMATOES. AT THE TIME, I THINK MY FRENCH FILET BEANS WORKED FOR HIM! WHAT CAN WE SAY FARMING CAN BE LONELY AND IT CONSUMES ONES TIME AND TAKES OVER YOUR LIFE..SO WHEN THE RIGHT FARMER MEETS THE RIGHT FARMER….WOW..WHAT A STIR FRY! WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS …JP BROUGHT ME HOME THE FIRST 4 TOMATOES THIS PAST WEEK…IT IS OUR LOVERS RITUAL…OUR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY IS APPROACHING NEXT MONTH AND HE KNOWS HOW TO WOW ME FOR ANOTHER YEAR OF FAMILY FARMING AND LOTS OF DREAMING !
THIS WEEKS PICK…ITALIAN BUTTERBEANS,JAPANESE CUCUMBERS,CIPPOLINI ONIONS,BASIL,NEW VARIETIES OF LETTUCE..LOVE IS A MYSTERY,RADISH,BERRIES,POTATOES,FLOWERS-MIXED BUNCHES,CARROTS ,RED BEETS WITH GORGEOUS GREENS…EAT THEM UP! .

Hey Jane! Looking good! I’m sitting over here, happy that I finally got more tomatoes in the ground. We’ll have to leave it up to you this year. See you soon and we’ll talk cheese.

Wow! Loving the cucumbers! What a wonderful treat. They were great last week and again this week~so sweet. Thank you.
I have been dreaming of those tomatoes too. I can’t wait till they are ready for the veggie boxes. Hopefully we can buy extras separately~just like last year when the whole family would grab handfuls heading out the door. Exactly the way every tomato should taste!! Can’t wait to make a tomato tart!

thanks andrea…I am roasting tomatoes as I write….cut them skin side down drizzle olive oil and salt…roast for 45 minutes under a 375-400 degree oven…eat fresh or freeze for the winter dulldroms….I know what you mean about the cukes…my favorite way to eat the japanese is with rice vingar or mirin…and of course salt.sometimes hot chilis….which i have to say are in the field and starting to make PEPPERS….yes! It is not easy growing peppers in our climate…cold cold and wet….! thanks for writing I appreciate the news and comments…please feel free to write about how the oakleaf lettuce wilts to fast or our compost pile is sooo big this year …filled with beets and fennel…hehehehehe love ya!
